Things to Do
Brixham harbour is a thriving and interesting place with lots of history.
There is always something to watch with boats on the move and fishing boats being repaired and refurbished.
The harbour has pubs, restaurants & fish restaurants, shell fish kiosks and gift shops.
There is a Ferry to Torquay and Paignton also cruises to Dartmouth.
Fishing trips are also available.
A Steam Train runs from Paignton through Churston to Kingswear.
Churston Golf Course is only 2 miles away.
Berry Head is a 45 minute walk and is a National Trust headland which has great bird watching facilities.
From there you can walk the coastal route to Kingswear passing, Collitonfishacre which is also a National Trust property, on the way. There is a bus service for the return journey back .
In the other direction from the harbour it is a short walk through Battery Gardens which is a Heritage site containing the gun emplacements from World War 2 to Fishcombe Cove.
From there you can walk to Churston Village over the Path Fields or go across to Churston Beach and go across the ridge top of Seven Quarries to Elbury Beach and on to Broadsands, Goodrigton and then Paignton. Buses run every 10 minutes from these places back to Brixham.
There is also a great scenic trip by catching the bus to Kingswear then the ferry to Dartmouth and then the bus to Plymouth via Slapton Sands.
